Welcome to my EPHE246 blog!

My name is Sadeem and I am currently Studying Recreation and Health Education at UVic. This semester, I look forward to learning about strategies for active health and how it ties into the BC education system. While my aspirations do not lie in teaching, I value the knowledge and skills I will gain from this class, as I know they can be applied to my future goals in the field of health advocacy and promotion. I hope to use my learning in real life by being a resource that supports others in living healthy lifestyles.

I was a very active kid who played both organized and unorganized sports growing up, and now that i’m older, I have discovered a new interest in traveling and exploring new ways to be active and maintain a healthy lifestyle. I enjoy staying active through sports like track and field and tennis, outdoor activities like hiking, skating and kayaking, equestrian, and simple walks at the beautiful beaches and trails near my home.

In this blog, I will share many personal insights, reflections, and takeaways from the course with the hope of inspiring someone with a different outlook. I am also eager to read my peer’s blog posts to explore new perspectives that could challenge and expand on my own!
